Should I Rent or Buy a House? Which Is Better?

Should I Rent or Buy a House? Which Is Better?

Deciding between renting and owning a home is a significant choice, and each option has its unique advantages. Renting provides flexibility: you can live near your family, workplace, or a neighborhood you enjoy, without the long-term commitment of a mortgage. This can be ideal for those who may not be ready to settle down or want the freedom to relocate as life changes.

On the other hand, owning a home brings the joy of personalizing your space. While it does come with monthly mortgage payments, it also offers the freedom to renovate, decorate, and truly make a space your own.

Ultimately, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. The best choice depends on individual circumstances and life stages. For example, a recent graduate might benefit from renting close to a new workplace, allowing time to adjust to new routines and explore areas that fit their lifestyle before making a long-term commitment.

Personally I would prefer to own a house for own stay rather than paying rental forever.

For initial career, while you are still exploring the suitable career, better to rent first.

Cash buy is the best, you saved 100% commission out of it. Not buy one house, pay bank another house (interest)!

But without bank loan, you have to fork out big chunks of money to own it from property developer. Installments enable us to “own” the properties.
